Schriesheim / Rhein-Neckar District
As previously reported, a fire broke out on Talstraße in Schriesheim around 06:45 AM. The fire completely destroyed the roof of a multi-family house.
By 07:30 AM, the fire was brought under control and further spread to adjacent properties was prevented.
A 19-year-old resident was slightly injured and was taken to a hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation. In addition, a 42-year-old firefighter had to be treated on site by the emergency services as he was slightly injured by a falling brick.
The estimated damage is approximately 180,000 euros. The multi-family house is currently uninhabitable.
83 emergency personnel from the volunteer fire departments of Schriesheim, Dossenheim, Heddesheim, Edingen-Neckarhausen, Ladenburg and Ilvesheim were on duty.
The Schriesheim police station is in charge of further investigations, especially regarding the cause of the fire.
