(BC) Biberach - Intoxicated and without a seatbelt / On Sunday, the police in Biberach ended a dangerous journey. There was also an arrest warrant against the 34-year-old

Around 1:45 pm, a Mercedes was on the move in Hochvogelstraße. A police patrol noticed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Therefore, the police stopped the vehicle. The officers quickly suspected that the 34-year-old was under the influence of drugs. The driver had noticeable pupils and eyelid fluttering. The man had to give a blood sample. This is now being examined and should provide information about which drugs the man has taken. In addition, there was a warrant for the 34-year-old. By paying the demanded fine, he was able to avoid a prison sentence. The car's TÜV (Technical Inspection Association) had also expired for several months. He had to leave the Mercedes behind. The police patrol prohibited the 34-year-old from continuing to drive for the next 24 hours. In addition to a report, the police are also contacting the driving license office. They are checking further measures against the man.

Drugs are poison:

Fines and the withdrawal of driving licenses threaten drug users. This is intended to deter people from starting a career in drugs. But prevention is just as important to the police, reports the Ulm Police Headquarters. Especially the entry of young people into drug use must be prevented early. This is also about the health of children, adolescents and young adults. The current rather trivializing discussion about drugs lowers the threshold for entry, according to the police. However, the consumption of so-called soft drugs such as hashish and marijuana is equally associated with health consequences. They also have massive effects on body and mind, the police emphasize. The younger the consumers and the more excessive and uncontrolled the consumption, the more serious the effects.
