(UL) Schelklingen - Black Ice Accident
Early on Sunday morning, at around 02:05 am, there was an accident on Hausener Steige in which a car passenger was seriously injured. A 20-year-old Peugeot driver was driving down the hill towards Schelklingen.
Here, he lost control of his vehicle in a right-hand curve due to excessive speed and winter-slick roads. When he counter-steered, he drove into the embankment on the left. The car then overturned, hit the guardrail, and came to a stop on the road, on its roof. The rear-seat passenger, a 21-year-old, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver and the front-seat passenger were unharmed. The Peugeot suffered damage estimated at around 4000 Euros.
