Dispute on tram escalates

On the evening of January 17, 2025, passengers on a tram from Bieblach-East towards Gera city center got into a dispute. A 36-year-old German man insulted two foreign co-passengers with racist remarks and escalated the situation by pulling out a knife.
This significantly threatened the victims.

The disputing parties got off together at the next stop, where they were met by police officers. All involved remained unharmed. An investigation for incitement to racial hatred and threat was initiated against the 36-year-old man. (AD)
