Driver under the influence of amphetamine and THC stopped

On the evening of January 17, 2025, officers from the Bernkastel-Kues Police Inspection conducted traffic checks in the local community of Piesport, with the aim of detecting narcotics and alcohol in road traffic. During this, they noticed a driver who showed clear signs of impairment.
The driver, who had previously come to the attention of the police for narcotics, admitted to having recently consumed amphetamine and marijuana. A drug rapid test carried out accordingly tested positive. The 42-year-old man from a Middle Moselle community was taken to the hospital, where a blood sample was taken from him.

He now faces a regulatory offense procedure for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances in public road traffic. Since amphetamine is a hard drug, it can be assumed that his driving license will be immediately revoked by the driving license office in Wittlich.
