Nienburg - Suspicion of drug influence - Police stop 37-year-old Ford driver

(KEM) On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Nienburg police received a tip that a man was driving in a zigzag pattern on the B215 towards Nienburg in a Ford, repeatedly turning the lights and hazard lights on and off. The police stopped the 37-year-old man from Achim at 12.13 pm on the Verden Landstraße.

As the man was making confused statements, an ambulance crew was initially called as a precaution, who took him to a hospital. At the hospital, the police also conducted a preliminary drug test, which came back positive. For this reason, they ordered a blood test, initiated criminal proceedings for drunk driving, and secured the vehicle keys and driver's license. The accused was then released from police custody. Further hospital stay was not necessary.
