250116-2-pdnms Bank contact in the Kiel Canal near Schülp

On 16.01.25 at 01:12 AM, there was a north-side embankment touch of the M/V "Eco Levant" at canal kilometer 54.2 in the NOK due to a machine failure. This was triggered by a technical defect in the hydraulic system.
The ship initially remained at anchor there. The canal was then closed by the traffic control center for eastbound traffic from Breiholz and for westbound traffic from Schülp.

The M/V "Eco Levant" was towed with tug assistance to the berth in the port of Rendsburg- Port.

The hydraulic damage was repaired there. The ship remains in Rendsburg until the class is confirmed. The NOK was reopened by the traffic control center at 08:15 AM.

No persons were injured, and no power and operating materials leaked.
