Aggressive shoplifter in Rostock-Reutershagen

Yesterday evening, around 6:00 pm, the police were called to a grocery store on Tschaikowskistraße in Rostock-Reutershagen. A 47-year-old man, who had previously been banned from the store due to past thefts, was allegedly observed by employees stealing goods again.

During the check by the alerted police officers, the intoxicated suspect, a German citizen, became extremely aggressive and tried to kick the officers. To prevent further attacks, the police had to bring the man to the ground.

The 47-year-old was eventually taken into custody for sobering up and to prevent further crimes. The police have filed criminal charges for theft, trespassing, and assault. The Rostock Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the investigation.

The officers involved remained unharmed and fit for duty.
