Germersheim - No driver's license, but alcohol and hit and run

After veering off the road in the Im Sandfeld area of Germersheim and hitting a parked vehicle around 2pm on Wednesday, a 68-year-old man from Germersheim left the scene after realizing that the victim had called the police. Officers were able to locate the man at his registered address and immediately noticed the smell of alcohol.
Further investigation revealed a breath alcohol concentration of 1.39 per mille. The man informed the officers that he no longer held a driving license, which had previously been revoked due to a past drunk driving incident.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated against the man from Germersheim and a blood sample was taken to determine his fitness to drive.
