Senior citizen becomes victim of con artist

A 77-year-old woman from Euskirchen fell victim to a change scam on Tuesday (January 14). The woman was walking on Hochstraße in Euskirchen around 11 a.
m., when she was approached by an unknown man who asked her to change a euro into small change.

The elderly woman then opened her purse, gave the man some change, and put the euro in her purse.

Later, the 77-year-old woman found that 165 euros were missing from her purse.

The unknown man had previously taken the banknotes from the wallet unnoticed.
