On the night of 7th to 8th January 2025, several construction machines and tools of a welding company were stolen at Neuwied station. One of the construction machines was offered for sale to a company friendly to the welding company. An employee of the company then alerted the Federal Police and arranged a meeting with the seller. At the meeting point at a petrol station in Limburg/Lahn, the plainclothes officers arrested the suspected receivers and secured the offered construction machine. Whether the two men are also responsible for the theft of the previous day is the subject of ongoing investigations.
