Traffic accident with property damage - BMW and Toyota collide

(jd) An 18-year-old from Herford was driving his BMW on Kastanienallee towards Salzuflener Straße yesterday (14.1.) at around 4:15 pm. At the junction to Buchsbaumweg, he stopped his vehicle due to traffic.
To let oncoming traffic pass, he then reversed his car a bit. According to a 66-year-old from Herford, the 18-year-old collided with his Toyota. However, the 18-year-old told the police officers who arrived at the scene that the 66-year-old had run into his vehicle after it had already stopped. However, the 18-year-old and his 26-year-old passenger made contradictory statements about the accident. The traffic department of the Herford police has taken over the investigation. The damage to both vehicles is estimated at around 3,000 euros.
