Sub-zero temperatures can become dangerous

Thanks to a witness tip, the police were able to assist a woman at Pfaffplatz on Monday morning. The witness had reported by phone around 7.30 am that there was a person lying on a bench who apparently was not doing well.
Due to the frosty temperatures, the caller was concerned.

The patrol dispatched to the scene found a woman known to the authorities, who was presumably unresponsive due to her intoxication and hypothermia. The summoned ambulance service immediately took the 64-year-old to the hospital for treatment.

If you also notice people in the current sub-zero temperatures - on streets, squares or even in building entrances - who are apparently motionless and possibly in a helpless situation, please immediately notify the police or the ambulance service. Only then can the emergency services help and protect the individuals from hypothermia or frostbite.
