Fraud by fake police officer

An 85-year-old woman received several calls yesterday (13.01.25) from a man pretending to be a police officer. The man claimed that there had been a burglary in the senior's neighborhood and there was a risk of a break-in at her place as well.
Through skillful conversation, the perpetrator persuaded the victim to hand over valuables to a male person who appeared at her residence in the afternoon around 3:30 pm. The lady assumed she had given the items to a police officer for safekeeping. When she called the Grünstadt Police Inspection to inquire where her valuables were being stored, the fraud became apparent. The amount of damage is not yet determined. The person who collected the valuables is believed to be a man of normal stature, aged between 25 and 30 years old.

If you noticed anything suspicious in Großkarlbach yesterday and can provide information, please contact the Grünstadt Police Inspection at Tel .: 06359 9312-0 or by email pigruenstadt@polizei.rlp.de.

The call could be related to several fraudulent calls from last week. (see press release:https://www.presseportal.de/blaulicht/pm/117696/5946759)
