Lost 7,700 Euros to phone scammers

A woman from Erfurt fell victim to telephone scammers on Monday afternoon. The unknown individuals called the 61-year-old around 12:30 pm, pretending to be employees of her bank.
They claimed that there had been an unauthorized transfer to a foreign account that now needed to be checked. The fraudsters persuaded the woman to give them her online banking access data and subsequently made several transfers totaling 7,700 euros. The 61-year-old no longer had access to her account and realized that she had fallen for scammers. She filed a fraud report with the police. (SE)
