(Konstanz) Technical defect leads to fire in the refrigeration room of a supermarket (13.01.2025)

Presumably due to a technical defect, a fire broke out in a shopping store on Riedstraße on Monday afternoon. According to current knowledge, an evaporator in the refrigeration room of the EDEKA caught fire, causing the smoke to spread through the ventilation into the storage rooms.
The store's staff then evacuated the building as a precaution. The fire department, which arrived promptly, was able to quickly extinguish the fire in the refrigeration room, preventing any spread. About 45 minutes later, the store was able to resume normal operations. No one was injured. The extent of the damage is not yet known.
