Driver flees from police

After ignoring a red light at a traffic signal on Neersener Straße in Kaarst, a 25-year-old motorist from Neuss fled from the police in his Opel Corsa on Tuesday (14.01.), shortly after 01:30 am. The journey continued from the A 57 / Neersener Straße junction, through Neusser Furth, back to the A 57, and further via the A 52 and Korschenbroicher Straße or Willicher Straße to Raderbroich.
Only here did the driver stop his vehicle.

Investigations revealed that the man from Neuss does not have a driving license and is also wanted by the Neuss District Court for an unpaid fine.

Various narcotics were found and seized in his vehicle. A preliminary drug test also suggests that the man had consumed drugs before starting his journey.

The 25-year-old was temporarily arrested. After a blood test and payment of the outstanding fine of 2,000 euros, he was able to leave the station.

The further investigations are now being carried out by Traffic Investigation Department 2 and Criminal Investigation Department 14.
