250113-5-K 34-year-old flees from police and damages six cars and a patrol car - Blood test

According to current investigations, plainclothes detectives of the Einsatztrupp Rennen discovered a parked Audi with stolen license plates at Venloer Straße/Weißdornweg around 1:15 pm. The police ordered a tow truck. In the meantime, the 34-year-old appeared, got into the Audi and quickly drove over the sidewalk towards Matthias-Brüggen-Straße. The Audi driver fled over several streets and tried to drive through several cars waiting at the red light on Militärringstraße/Alte Escher Straße. In the process, he hit a total of six cars and a patrol car. He unsuccessfully tried to continue his escape on foot. After a short pursuit, the emergency personnel apprehended him. A traffic accident investigation team secured the traces on site. The Militärringstraße was closed in the northern direction between Johannesstraße and Alte Escher Straße for the duration of the accident investigation. (cw/sb)
