Dangerous interference with road traffic

The Rostock Police Department is currently investigating several cases of dangerous interference with road traffic, which occurred last weekend in the Groß Klein district. A total of three incidents were reported, in which construction fences and warning beacons were deliberately placed on the roadway.
On Saturday evening at around 7:00 pm, the police first became aware of objects on a roadway in Groß Klein. Several construction fences were removed from a nearby construction site and placed on the street at Werftallee/Gerüstbauerring. Witnesses observed a group of teenagers who are suspected of being responsible for the act. On site, police officers encountered a 10-year-old boy who is suspected of having been involved in the action. He was handed over to his legal guardians.

On Sunday evening at around 6:40 pm, construction fences were again placed on the roadway at the same location. A car drove over the obstacles, but continued its journey without reporting to the police. In this incident too, witnesses reported having seen teenagers who are believed to have carried the construction fences onto the street.

At around 8:00 pm, also on Sunday evening, a witness reported warning beacons that had been placed on the roadway on Werftallee. A driver was able to narrowly avoid a collision with the obstacles by braking hard. A group of teenagers was observed nearby, but fled before the arrival of the emergency services.

Police warn of endangering road users The Rostock Police Department takes these incidents very seriously. Such actions not only constitute a criminal offense, but also endanger the safety of all road users. The Rostock Police Department also asks parents to talk to their children about the dangers and consequences of such actions. Only through mutual consideration and responsibility can we ensure safety in road traffic.

Witnesses who have made suspicious observations or can provide information about the incidents are asked to contact the Rostock Criminal Investigation Department at 0381 4916-1616, any other police station or via the online police station atwww.polizei.mvnet.de/. The police are also looking for the driver who drove over the fences on Sunday and may have suffered damage.
