Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs

A witness saw a 57-year-old man from Waldems in Hesse buying beer at a grocery store in Bracht, then getting behind the wheel - and starting to drink beer. He continued to do so while driving. He finally stopped on St. Barbara Street. He was just about to restart the engine when the patrol team arrived. Breath alcohol tests showed values between just under 0.8 and just under 1 per mille. As a result, two blood samples were taken. The man's driver's license was also secured by the officers.
