In this process, the police officers stopped a total of six motor vehicle drivers who had not complied with this legal obligation despite the onset of winter. For instance, the law enforcers objected to an unauthorized tire combination on a car, as only winter tires had been fitted on the front axle of the car. However, summer tires were found on the rear axle of the vehicle. On another car, all-weather tires that were no longer permissible were fitted - these did not display the necessary alpine mountain pictogram with a snowflake. All-season tires that do not carry the mentioned symbol may not be used in winter weather conditions from October 1, 2024.
During the inspection of a 33-year-old driver of a small transporter in the afternoon in Bad Oeynhausen, not only was the lack of winter tires objected to, but it also turned out that the man was allegedly under the influence of narcotics while driving the vehicle. After being prohibited from continuing his journey, he also had to undergo a blood test. All the drivers mentioned now face charges for their violations.
