Traffic light off - Right of way disregarded

A 56-year-old car driver wanted to turn left towards the city center at the intersection on Ilmenauer Straße in Suhl on Sunday afternoon. At the time of the accident, the traffic light was turned off.
He turned, but ignored the right of way of the 81-year-old VW driver coming from Schmiedefeld. The vehicles collided in the intersection area. Fortunately, no one was injured. Alcohol smell was detected on the accident causer during the accident recording. A test showed 1.3 per mille. He had to give up his driver's license in addition to a blood sample.
