BPOL NRW: Federal Police execute arrest warrant and seize medication

Yesterday afternoon (January 12), federal police officers checked a man at Gelsenkirchen's main train station. He was already being sought.
Around 4 p.m., federal police officers patrolled the Gelsenkirchen main train station and checked a 25-year-old man. Research revealed that the Cologne public prosecutor's office had issued a warrant for his arrest. The Bergisch-Gladbach district court ordered pre-trial detention against the German citizen, as he is suspected of having stolen in six cases, in two of which he is said to have broken into a room, and in three of the six cases he is said to have acted commercially. Furthermore, he is said to have threatened another person four times, in one of the four cases he is said to have threatened the person with a crime. In addition, the man from Gelsenkirchen is accused of having committed one assault, two dangerous assaults, one insult and two property damages.

The federal police officers presented the wanted man with the arrest warrant, arrested him and then took him to the federal police station at Gelsenkirchen's main train station. On site, the officers searched the man and found two Tilidin tablets and a bag of marijuana on him. A breath alcohol test also revealed that the German was intoxicated with 1.52 per mille.

After being examined by a doctor who confirmed the 25-year-old's ability to be detained, the officers took him to the police custody in Gelsenkirchen. Following a judicial decision, the man known to the police was finally taken to a responsible correctional facility.

The federal police officers confiscated the prescription tablets and initiated an investigation against the German for violating the law on the traffic of medicinal products.
