BPOL NRW: Wanted by Arrest Warrant - Federal Police at Düsseldorf Airport Arrest Two Men

As part of their patrol duties in the public area of Düsseldorf Airport, the Federal Police arrested a Polish national who was wanted on Friday evening (10.01.2025). The 29-year-old was sought by the Landshut Public Prosecutor's Office.
They had issued an arrest warrant for theft in November 2024. Accordingly, he was legally convicted in August 2024. The man, however, could not pay the fine of 500 euros and thus could not avoid the five-day substitute imprisonment. After arrest and announcement of the arrest warrant, the convicted person was handed over to the judicial authorities.

The following Saturday afternoon, the federal police checked a Turkish national who presented himself for the exit control of a flight to Kayseri/Turkey. Here they found that the Wuppertal Public Prosecutor's Office had issued an arrest warrant for resistance to enforcement officers against the 44-year-old in May 2024. However, the man living in the Ennepe-Ruhr district was able to avoid the substitute imprisonment of 40 days by paying the fine of 2,000 euros on the spot to the Federal Police. He then continued his journey.
