Norden - Driving without insurance

On Friday at around 9 pm, a 25-year-old man from Norden was driving an e-scooter on public roads in Norden when he was stopped and checked by the police. The officers found that the vehicle did not have the required insurance. For this reason, criminal proceedings were initiated against the man and he was prohibited from continuing his journey.

Aurich - Car fire in underground car park On Sunday morning, just before 6 am, a car parked in the underground car park under the market place caught fire. The quick intervention of the fire brigade prevented the fire from spreading to another car. The damage is estimated at around 3500 euros. The police have started investigations into the cause of the fire.

Friedeburg - Traffic accident between car and cyclist On Saturday afternoon at around 4 pm, there was an accident on Strooter Weg between a car and a 71-year-old cyclist. The as yet unknown car driver was driving on Strooter Weg, where he left the road in a curve due to excessive speed observed by witnesses and touched a cyclist, who was able to evade but could not prevent a collision. The car driver then left the scene of the accident without permission. The cyclist was not injured, but his bicycle was significantly damaged.
