Aalen-Unterkochen: Fire in a building under constructionIn the early hours of Sunday, at around 02:32 am, a police patrol discovered a fire in a building under construction on Aalener Street. The fire spread from the first floor of the four-story apartment building.
There were no people in the building. After the fire seemed to be extinguished around 03:45 am, a message from the fire department came in at around 05:37 am that the attic was on fire again. Aalener Street and the town hall square are currently still closed due to the fire department's operation. The closure is expected to last all day. The cause is still unclear. Investigations are ongoing. The fire departments of Aalen, Unterkochen, Ebnat, and Wasseralfingen are on the scene with five fire trucks, two turntable ladders, and 60 personnel. The amount of damage is also currently unknown.
