BPOLI-OG: Federal Police investigating dangerous interference with railway traffic

So far, unknown individuals have placed construction site barriers on the tracks of the Rheintalbahn in the Appenweier area. These were stored there due to sewer works.
A freight train coming from Karlsruhe could not stop in time and ran over the obstacles this morning at around 04:50 am. Neither the train nor the railway facilities were damaged. Due to the incident, the tracks had to be temporarily closed.
