Turn signal misinterpreted
On 17.01.2025 at around 20:15, the driver of a VW Up was driving on the L 1027 from Steinbach towards Ruhla. A Ford Transit was driving ahead of him.
The latter indicated to turn left with the intention of pulling into a lay-by. However, the VW driver interpreted the signal as an opportunity to overtake the somewhat slow-moving transporter. As he began to overtake, the driver of the transporter turned left, resulting in a side collision. Both vehicles were damaged.
