Mülheim-Kärlich

On January 19, 2025, at around 00:36 am, a patrol of the Andernach police was driving on the B9 in the direction of Bonn. In the area of Mülheim-Kärlich, the patrol noticed two cars driving at high speed on the B9 at some distance.
Despite the patrol car accelerating to over 200 km/h, the distance was not initially reduced. In the further course, the officers were able to catch up with the two vehicles. Before both vehicles separated in the area of the exit to the B 256, one vehicle flashed its high beams. The vehicles were a dark BM GT 535x with Koblenz license plates, and a white VW Arteon registered in Calw. The VW was stopped. The driver, a 21-year-old from the Calw district, confirmed that he was driving fast, but stated that he did not know the other driver and that no race had taken place. Based on the officers' findings, investigations were initiated on the initial suspicion of a prohibited motor vehicle race. Therefore, the police ask road users and/or witnesses who noticed the two aforementioned vehicles or who were endangered by the vehicles to report to the Andernach police.
