Drunk driving - 50-year-old E-Scooter driver under the influence of alcohol

On Friday, January 17, 2025, at 5:10 PM, officers from the Grünstadt Police Inspection conducted a traffic check with a 50-year-old driver of an e-scooter on Hauptstraße in Dirmstein. During the control measures, a strong smell of alcohol could be detected from the e-scooter driver.
A breath alcohol test revealed a value of 0.89 per mille. The continuation of the journey was prohibited and subsequently, a court-admissible breath alcohol test was conducted at the station. An administrative offense procedure was initiated, in which the driver faces a fine of 500 euros, 2 points in the driving suitability register, and a one-month driving ban for the first offense.
