Joint press release of the Public Prosecutor's Office Frankenthal/Palatinate and the Police Headquarters Rhineland-Palatinate
Following the planned act of violence at the Nordring School in Landau, the investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the police are still ongoing. In the course of the intensive and extensive investigations, the suspicion against the 16-year-old suspect has now been substantiated. She is believed to have actively participated in the specific planning of the act. As a result, on the application of the Public Prosecutor's Office Frankenthal, a warrant of arrest for preliminary investigation was issued against the 16-year-old on the grounds of strong suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime. She was arrested on Tuesday (14.01.2025) and presented to the examining magistrate, who put the warrant of arrest for preliminary investigation into effect. The 16-year-old was then taken to a penal institution.
In addition to the criminal proceedings, we continue to review necessary preventive measures. In particular, the Police Headquarters Rhineland-Palatinate continues to maintain close contact with the Nordring School, the responsible youth welfare offices and the parents of the suspect.
