Car driver under the influence of cocaine

On Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025, officers from the Bingen Police Inspection checked a car on Gensinger Street in Horrweiler around 6:30 pm. At the start of the check, there was suspicion that the driver might be intoxicated.
A breath alcohol test refuted this assumption. However, during the test, the suspicion of the driver's drug use became increasingly confirmed, so a rapid drug test was subsequently carried out with the driver, which tested positive for cocaine. The 31-year-old Portuguese driver then admitted to using cocaine shortly before the drive. A blood sample was subsequently taken from him at the station for evidence. The driver now faces a criminal and a fine procedure.
