Operation in Supermarket

Gera: On Monday evening (13.01.2025) around 19:45, unknown perpetrators triggered an operation by the fire brigade and police in a supermarket on Otto-Rothe-Straße. The unknown individuals set items on fire in a shelf of the store.
Two employees (f/36; f/51) of the market noticed the smoke and immediately dialed the emergency number. Fortunately, the arriving fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire before it could spread further. Property damage amounted to approximately 20 euros. The two employees were slightly injured and had to be briefly treated medically. The unknown perpetrators managed to escape unidentified. The Gera police have started investigations and ask witnesses who have made observations during the mentioned period to call the phone number 0365 / 829-0 (reference number 0010950/2025). (AK)
