(BC) Riedlingen - Police punish violations / On Monday, the police monitored traffic in Riedlingen

Between 10:30 am and 12 pm, the police had set up a checkpoint on Ziegelhüttenstraße. They stopped four drivers who were using their mobile phones while driving.
The officers conducted traffic education talks with the offenders and penalized the violations. All showed understanding.

Anyone who uses a mobile phone illegally while driving faces a fine of 100 Euros and a point in the central register. The police urgently appeal to drivers to leave the phone alone, even if it rings. At a speed of 50 km/h, a second of distraction means 14 meters of "blind driving". The police provide further tips in brochures at every police station or on the Internet at www.runtervomgas.de.
