The warrant for the arrest of the Polish man (41) was uncovered on Monday evening at Görlitz station. In this case, the station had received a tip-off about a drunk person in the concourse. When the officers encountered the 41-year-old, they first found a prohibited butterfly knife. The knife was in one of his trouser pockets at the time. Upon checking his personal details, it subsequently came to light that the Tiergarten District Court had ordered pre-trial detention in a case of embezzlement in conjunction with dangerous bodily harm. The drunk man was initially taken to the federal police station at the city bridge. According to a breathalyzer test conducted there, he had an equivalent of 2.68 per mille alcohol in his blood. After the knife was taken from him and he was reported on suspicion of violating the Weapons Act, the next step from the station is to the investigating judge at the Görlitz District Court. The judge will therefore decide on the execution of the pre-trial detention order during the course of the day.
