After the elderly woman let her in, the supposed worker led her to the bathroom and asked her to wait there. While the elderly woman was waiting in the bathroom, the intruder searched the apartment for valuables. Shortly afterwards, she told the elderly woman that the inspection was over and left the apartment. It was only then that the elderly woman noticed that 200 EUR and her bank card were missing from her wallet. The trickster is described as being 20 - 30 years old, about 170 cm tall, with a darker complexion, dark hair, and brown eyes. She was wearing a light top and blue jeans. The unknown woman also spoke German without an accent. The incident took place in an apartment building on Schwalheimer Straße. Witnesses who observed the woman in question on Friday or who also had someone ring their doorbell under the same pretext are asked to contact the Friedberg police (Tel.: 06031 6010). The police advise to only let strangers into your apartment if you are sure of who they are and what their intentions are. If in doubt, ask these unknown individuals to come back at a later time when a trusted person is present. Only let craftsmen into your apartment who you have ordered yourself or who have been announced by the property management. The same applies to representatives of the city utilities. Make arrangements with neighbors who are at home during the day to assist each other when unknown visitors are at the apartment door. If you let a person into your apartment, make sure that the apartment door is really closed and that no other persons can gain access unnoticed.
