The officers could immediately smell cannabis from the inside of the vehicle, but all four vehicle occupants denied carrying marijuana.
The 18-year-old driver was no stranger to the police, he had already been noticed in September for driving under the influence of cannabis and carrying an unauthorized amount of cannabis. A drug test now carried out confirmed the suspicion of another drive under the influence of marijuana.
During the search of the vehicle to clarify the origin of the cannabis smell, the patrol found an illegal amount of hashish weighing just over 26 grams hidden under the back seat. The driver finally showed remorse and admitted to possessing the found substance. The continuation of the journey was prohibited and a blood sample was ordered.
Two fine proceedings with an expected substantial fine were initiated against the driver.
