Highway Police Ahlhorn

While driving on Sunday, January 12, 2025, around 8:30 pm, a small car caught fire on highway 28.A 42-year-old man from Bremen was traveling on the highway towards Bremen. When he noticed flames between the Oldenburg-East junction and the Hatten exit, he stopped on the hard shoulder and left the vehicle.
Nine members of the Oldenburg professional fire brigade were deployed to fight the fire, but they could not prevent the car from burning out completely. The total damage amounted to 5,000 Euros.

Highway 28 had to be closed in the direction of Bremen. After the fire brigade left, one lane was reopened. The complete lifting of the closure was possible after the recovery of the small car and cleaning of the fire site around 10:30 pm.
