First off, telling your partner to lose weight is a landmine you don’t want to step on. If they haven’t brought up their weight as something they’re concerned about or want to change, bringing it up yourself can really hurt their feelings. It’s more important to focus on being supportive and loving, regardless of weight.
But if your partner is dealing with body dysmorphia, it’s a definite no-go. Their perception of their body is already in a fragile state. Bringing up weight loss could seriously worsen their condition. It’s important to be supportive and understanding, focusing on their mental health rather than physical appearance. Encouraging them to seek professional help if they’re not already getting it would be a way better move. Remember, it’s about making them feel loved and secure, not feeding into harmful perceptions. Stick to being their biggest supporter, not their critic
