SNL Ladies Hilariously Shut Down A TikTokker Who Said The Show Doesn’t Cast Any “Hot Women”

The best and worst thing about TikTok is that it allows everyone to go viral.
This can be great because it gives talented and brilliant people who would have otherwise remained undiscovered a platform. On the flip side, it also gives a platform to people with little to nothing rattling around in their brains—people whose worldviews are so shallow and misguided that the rest of us get dumber when they open their mouths.

Enter TikTok user Jahelis. In a two-minute rant, she wonders why SNL has never hired anyone who is, like, hot. With aggravating faux-intellectualism and smug self-satisfaction, she attempts to spin her wingeing into a pro-feminist take about society being unable to handle women who are both hot and funny. (Apparently, Kristen Wiig is “conventionally attractive” but not “hot.” Thanks for clearing that up, Jahelis).

“Not saying that every single woman on SNL is ugly, it’s just that none of them have ever been, like, hot. They all just kind of have looks that eventually grow on you,” Jahelis said in the since-deleted clip.

“I think it goes back to my theory where, one, people don’t like it when conventionally [attractive women] ― especially super beautiful women ― are funny,” she added. “People refuse to accept that that’s true. And they assume that any kind of humor they put out into the world is actually them being stupid and they don’t understand sarcasm, or why what they’re saying is funny.”

Jahelis conceded former cast member Maya Rudolph was “really beautiful,” but “the rest of [the female cast] are all pretty average-looking women.”

Jahelis went through a list of several cast members, explaining how they aren’t, like, hot

When it came to cast member Heidi Gardner, Jahelis pointed out she often lands those “super-hot and super-dumb” roles on the show, yet doesn’t strike her as “that pretty.”

“I guess, if you really think about it, [she’s] the closest thing to what you’d call a conventionally hot person — like, hot female — in this cast,” the TikToker mentioned.

And an effort to blow the lid off a double standard, Jahelis threw in Jimmy Fallon’s name, saying he used to be a “conventionally super hot guy.” She didn’t stop there, though; Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis, and Bowen Yang also got a nod as part of the “hot” male comedian squad.

She also says that cast member Heidi Gardner is “not that pretty” despite having “super-hot and “super-dumb” roles.

To conclude her groundbreaking analysis, Jahelis said: “To be considered funny, you have to be more funny than you are hot. And if you’re more hot than you are funny, then it boils down to you just not being funny at all.”

“once we see women as super funny, we have a hard time seeing them as also both sexy and attractive,” she added.

Here’s a tidbit of advice, Jahelis: tearing other women down is not a good way to advance feminism or whatever the hell you were trying to do at the end of your little spiel.

Before long, the SNL ladies caught wind of the viral fart and responded the way we’d expect pro comedians: by brushing it off, being funny, and making her look like an even bigger tool.

After deleting the video, Jahelis responded by saying she had hoped to generate a thought-provoking discussion within her community. She also added that she had been brave for sharing her unfiltered opinions.

“I never expected that video to go viral. Had I known, I would’ve maybe articulated myself a little better. I was expecting to have a dialogue with my community who is use [sic] to my unfiltered opinions that rarely come from a place of malice,” Jahelis said. “In return for being brave enough to share a peak [sic] into what is the magical colorful wonderland that I call my mind, I have received comments calling me ugly, fat, a trunk full of racially charged insults, etc. (I stopped reading the comments so I’m not sure what other creative ways they’ve thought to insult me),” she said.

Sarah Sherman also responded with a sarcastic quip

just found out i’m not hot. please give me and my family space to grieve privately and uglily at this time. https://t.co/YXvXMGvbYN

Fans chimed in, too, pointing out that not only has Jahelis committed flagrant douchebaggery — she’s also just plain wrong.
