In a joint investigation by the public prosecutor's office in Darmstadt, the Joint Investigation Group on Drugs (GER) of the Hessian State Criminal Police Office and the Customs Investigation Office in Frankfurt am Main on suspicion of illegal trade and importation of narcotics, the 47-year-old main suspect was able to 2022) were arrested in Rödermark.

The arrest was preceded by months of intensive investigations, which fortunately could be completed prematurely. A patrol car crew from the Dietzenbach police station (southeast Hesse police headquarters), who were staying at the suspect's address as part of other investigations, suddenly caught the smell of marijuana. The police observed an elderly lady - as it later turned out to be the mother of the 47-year-old - as she allegedly tried to hide a bag. Inside, officers found approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, approximately 500 grams of hashish and 700 grams of marijuana.

The main suspect was arrested a short time later in the immediate vicinity of his address.

During the subsequent search of the apartment building, the source of the smell was found: a so-called indoor plantation for growing marijuana in the basement. This was dismantled and removed with the help of the Rödermark/Ober-Roden fire brigade. In the rooms of the woman, who presumably wanted to hide the bag beforehand, another 200 grams of marijuana, more than 9,000 euros in denominations typical of the scene and four high-quality wristwatches were found and seized. In addition, five marijuana seedlings and a full-grown, man-high marijuana bush were seized.

On Thursday (October 27, 2022), the 47-year-old was brought before the magistrate at the Darmstadt district court, who ordered him to be held in custody. The 68-year-old mother was released by order of the public prosecutor's office after identification treatment. The investigations into this process are ongoing.
